At the end of the third quarter of 2010 as reported in Dog World, Chayo Alaskan Malamutes are the Top Alaskan Malamute kennel in the UK.
Our very own special girl 'Topaz' Ch / Int Ch Chayo Forget Me Not is not only the Top Brood Bitch in the Working Category but she is also NINTH Top Brood Bitch in the whole of the UK. Huge thanks to siblings 'Cruz' Ch Chayo Vanquish and 'Enzo' Chayo All Eyes On Me for their group wins and group placings and CCs and to half sister 'Truffle' - Chayo Better Than Chocolate for her CCs also over the year that have placed their Mom so highly.
The current leader of the Top Alaskan Malamute Stud Dog in the Working Category is the handsome 'Diesel' - Am/Int/Lux/Bel/Dutch Ch Sno Quest's Limited Edition owned by Rita Liebrand from the Netherlands. Both sons Enzo and Cruz have done you proud in winning a total of 5 x Working Group 1, 2 x Group 2, 3 x Group 4, winning 5 CCs between them and Cruz becoming a UK Champion.

December 2010

A great result for Chayo at the end of the year shows in Brussels, Belgium where 'Tara' - Int /Can /NL Ch Keikewabic Kiaranuk Chayo Tara wins the CACIB and CAC, Best Female and the Title of Brussels Winner and is now invited to the Champions of Champions competition in Belgium next year. Her son 'Freddy' - Chayo I Want It All won the Open Dog Class with Excellent Grading. Huge thanks to Gwen Guillaume for handling. An amazing end to a great year for Chayo In Europe and now we are looking forward to welcoming Tara and Freddy home.

At the ABSA Ringwood Rally Ayla and 'Maddy' - Chayo Northern Lights within Arctictribe came 3rd in their junior class, this was their first race of the season together.

Wow! At the Winners Show, Amsterdam and 'Tara' - Int/Can Ch. Keikewabic Kiaranuk Chayo Tara takes the Female CACIB to become a Dutch Champion, the title Winner 2010 and ultimately the BREED !!! Huge Thanks to Nancy Daponte for a great job once again.

Fantastic news from our friends Tara Sif Haraldson and Styrmir Vignisson of Ásgarðsheima Kennel in Iceland where 'Demi' - Chayo Step Ahead (Gwinner Lapema Star De Jungla Negra x Can/Int Ch Keikewabic Kiaranuk Chayo Tara ) has won her 3rd CACIB and is now an Icelandic Champion. She now has 3x CACIB, 3x BOS, 1x BOB and a Group 5. With thanks to Pam and Kerry at Lapema for allowing me to use Rafa. 'Atlas' - Chayo Blue Blood (Ch/Int Ch Chayo Blue Thunder x Can/Int Ch Keikewabic Kiaranuk Chayo Tara) took to the ring for his first show in Iceland and won 1st place, Best male, excellent, CK, CAC, BOB and 4th in BIS. In his 2nd show he won 1st place, Best male, excellent, CK, CAC and BOS. Demi & Atlas win 3rd best pair in show

It was a good day for Chayo at the Eurodogshow in Kortrijk, Belgium (Belgium's equivalent to Crufts!). We had a son and his mum do the double!! BOB and the Dog CACIB was 'Freddy' - Chayo I Want It All and BOS and Bitch CACIB was 'Tara' - Int/Can Ch Keikewabic Kiaranuk Chayo Tara. Freddy then went on to finish 4th in the Group. Our thanks to Nancy for handling.

Chayo have been out and about on the working scene where 'Maddy' has completed her requirements for the Working Pack Dog Advanced (WPDA) giving her the title of Chayo Northern Lights within Arctictribe WTD WPD WPDA. Meanwhile, 'Noobie' - Chayo Black Magic WPD has completed the 2nd leg of her Working Weight Pull Dog title (WWPD). Well done!

'Tara' - Can Ch. Keikewabics Chayo Tara has won her 5th CACIB in Metz, France continuing her winning streak across Europe with her handler Nancy Daponte.

At the Working & Pastoral Breeds Association of Scotland Championship Show 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me completed an amazing year for Chayo by winning BEST OF BREED then going on to win GROUP2 under breed judge Leandra Mizzi (Malta) and group judge Paul Lawless (Ireland) and 'Elise' - Chayo Elise then took Best Bitch under breed judge Bert Easdon another great double for the littermates!

October 2010

Today in Hannover, 'Tara' - Can Ch. Keikewabics Chayo Tara has won her 4th CACIB to gain her INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION TITLE. Our thanks to her handler Nancy Daponte for looking after our girl and doing so well in Europe.

Once again, all eyes were focussed on 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me who won BEST OF BREED then went on to win GROUP1 at Midland Counties Championship Show. Our thanks to the breed judge Peter Green from the US and Group judge Derek Smith. 'Elise' - Chayo Elise then took Best Bitch, a great double for the littermates! 'Mya' - Chayo Fortune and Glory owned by Sarah Tyler won 3rd in Puppy Dog or Bitch and Reserve in Post Graduate Dog or Bitch was won by 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Anne Coman.

At the AMCUK Allerton Park weight pull, 'Noobie' - Chayo Black Magic WPD gained the first leg of her WWPD title.

At South Wales Kennel Association Championship Show 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me won BEST OF BREED then went on to win GROUP1. Our thanks to the breed judge Bob Gregory and the group judge Peter Radley.
'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me won BEST OF BREED at Driffield Championship Show and 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Anne Coman came 2nd in his final Puppy Dog class.

September 2010

At the Championship Show in Belfast, Northern Ireland  then went on to take GROUP 2 in a very strong group. Thanks to Lisa Bridges who handled him fabulously. Best Bitch and Best Puppy In Breed was Paul Hanna's Chayo Blue Orchid.
'Truffle' - Chayo Better Than Chocolate added to her collection by winning the Reserve Bitch CC at the Alaskan Malamute Club of the UK Championship Show under breed specialist Kath Howarth. Chayo Fame and Fortune owned by Glynis Cameron won the Minor Puppy Dog class and 'Oreo' - Chayo Cookie Monster For Wintadreama owned by Sarah Towers & Neil Rivers came 2nd in the Puppy Bitch class. The Junior Bitch class was won by Chayo Careless Whisper, 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish, owned by Charlotte Whittaker came 3rd in the Open Dog class and 'Naya' - Chayo Vanilla Ice at Koldsnap won reserve in Veteran Bitch.

'Neeva' - Chayo Sweet Sensation at Snowstruck owned by Jane York has been awarded her Junior Warrant!

At Darlington Championship Show 'Oreo' - Chayo Cookie Monster For Wintadreama owned by Sarah Towers & Neil Rivers won Best Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed, then was shortlisted in the puppy group. Chayo Fame and Fortune owned by Glynis Cameron came 3rd and 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Anne Coman VHC in the puppy dog class. Well done to the Chayo family!

At her first outing in Belgium, Can Ch. Keikewabic's Kiaranuk Chayo Tara won Best of Sex, the CAC and was graded excellent, then went on to win RESERVE BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW at the Alaskan Malamute Club of Belgium. Our thanks to Nancy Daponte for expertly handling Tara for us.

At Richmond Championship Show, Chayo once again took top honours with 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me winning Best Dog and BEST OF BREED, Isabella Nawrocka's 'Artica' - Pol Ch./Pol Jr Ch. Chayo Snowflake of Monikoona won Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex and 'Mya' - Chayo Fortune and Glory owned by Sarah Tyler was Best Puppy In Breed. Also, in a large class and at her first Championship Show, 'Elise' - Chayo Elise came a very respectable 3rd place! It is worth noting that all of the principle winners today are progeny of 'Topaz' - CH/Int CH Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09. Also at Richmond the Purina Puppy Stakes was won by 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Anne Coman.

Chayo has cause for celebration in Ireland where 'Oreo' - Chayo Cookie Monster For Wintadreama owned by Sarah Towers & Neil Rivers has become an Irish Junior Champion at only 11 months of age! At the same show, 'Tali' - Chayo It's All About Me owned by Caroline & James Maher, won the CACIB and Green Star.

At the Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show, 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me once again won Best Dog and BEST OF BREED, then went on to win WORKING GROUP 4

A cause for celebration at the Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show where 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish, owned by Charlotte Whittaker took his 3rd CC, won BEST OF BREED then went on to win WORKING GROUP 1 making him a NEW UK CHAMPION!!!. 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me backed him up by winning the Reserve CC. 'Topaz' - CH/Int CH Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09 won Best Bitch and her 7th CC and 'Truffle' - Chayo Better Than Chocolate won the Reserve Bitch CC. 'Freddy' - Chayo I Want It All won 2nd place in the Limit Dog class, the Puppy Bitch class was won by 'Mya' - Chayo Fortune and Glory owned by Sarah Tyler and 'Tia' - Chayo Sapphire Blue At Snowstruck owned by Jane York won VHS in the Open Bitch class.

Across the sea in Ireland Chayo has been represented by 'Oreo' - Chayo Cookie Monster For Wintadreama owned by Sarah Towers & Neil Rivers on the Irish circuit. Over the week she gained 4 points for her Junior Irish title and 2 for her Adult Irish Champion title. At the Limerick Show, Oreo won BEST OF BREED. Well done!

At Bournemouth Championship Show judged by Rodney Oldham, in a reversal of last week's results, 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish, owned by Charlotte Whittaker won his 2nd CC and BEST OF BREED then went on to win WORKING GROUP 1 and 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me won the Reserve CC. 'Truffle' - Chayo Better Than Chocolate won the Bitch CC and the Reserve CC was won by Truffle's niece Monikoona Casablanca out of 'Tika' - Chayo Snowflake of Monikoona. Other notable Chayo placings were 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Anne Coman who came 3rd in Puppy Dog, Chayo Fame and Fortune owned by Glynis Cameron won VHC in Puppy Dog, 'Cookie' - Chayo Fortune Cookie won 3rd in Puppy Bitch handled by Sergio who did a great job in qualifying her for Crufts at her first Champ Show. 'Maddy' - Chayo Northern Lights Within Arctictribe owned by Natalie Lovegrove won VHC in Limit Bitch and 'Topaz' - CH/Int CH Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09 won 1st in the Open Bitch class.

At Leeds Championship Show, judged by Robin Newhouse, Chayo once again took top honours with 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me winning Best Dog, BEST OF BREED and shortlisted in the Group, 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Anne Coman winning Reserve Best Dog and Best Puppy In Breed and at her first show aged just over 6 months 'Mya' - Chayo Fortune and Glory owned by Sarah Tyler won Best Bitch, what a wonderful start to her show career! Other Chayo results were Chayo Fame and Fortune who was placed VHC in Puppy Dog and Chayo Canadian Dream for Samjoe who was placed VHC in Open Bitch.

'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Anne Coman came 1st in Puppy Dog and 'Tova' - Chayo Canadian Dream for Samjoe owned by Sue Perfitt won 1st place in Limit Bitch to complete the Chayo line-up.

To complete an absolutely amazing weekend for Chayo, back home in the UK at Blackpool Championship Show under judge FA Somerfield we swept the board! 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me won 1st in the Open Dog class and went on to win Best Dog, his first CC and BEST OF BREED!!! Winning 1st in Open Bitch, Best Bitch and the Bitch CC was 'Topaz' - CH Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09 and to complete the set, Best Puppy in Show was 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Anne Coman.

News hot off the press from Denmark where 'Freddy' - Chayo I Want It All has won the Intermediate class from an entry of 12, followed by 'Louis' - Multi BIS Ch/Ir Ch Chayo Dom Perignon ShCM WPD EuW'09 who has won the Champion class out of an entry of 19!!! Chayo is waiting with baited breath for the Breed results..... Louis has won the CACIB, is the WORLD WINNER 2010 and qualifies as an International Champion. His title is now Multi BIS Ch/Int Ch/Ir Ch Chayo Dom Perignon ShCM WPD EuW'09 WW'10. He has gone on to win BEST OF BREED! Thank you so much to Gwen Guillaume and Nancy Daponte of NAGWE Handling.

Under judge Keith Nathan at the Border Union Championship Show, 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me won 2nd in the Open Dog class and 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Ann Coman won 2nd in the puppy Dog class.
At 3 Counties Championship Show, 'Paolo' - Chayo Just The Ticket was 1st in Puppy Dog and 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me won 1st in the Open Dog class then went on to win Best of Breed and was shortlisted in the group.

'Tiko' - Bassbarr Kool Kustomer at Chayo 2/5/98 to 10/6/10.
Tiko was Chayo's Foundation Male, sire of the UK's first Champion and grandsire to a further 3 Champions. His huge spirit will live on in his legacy. Today has been a very sad day and Tiko's great personality will be sorely missed. He was 'my main man' and the Chayo Kennel has been built around him. We couldn't have done any of this without you 'Big Guy'

At Southern Counties Championship Show, 'Paolo' - Chayo Just The Ticket was 3rd in the Petplan Junior Dog Stakes out of an entry of 25 dogs and also took 5th in the Purina Proplan Puppy Stakes out of entry of 40.

'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me certainly caught the eye of the judge at Bath Championship Show where he won Best Dog and Best of Breed then went on to be shortlisted in the Group. The Best Bitch was 'Maddy' - Chayo Northern Lights within Arctictribe, having only just recently taken to the show ring! and 'Tia' - Chayo Sapphire Blue at Snowstruck took RBB. Top puppies were 'Oreo' - Chayo Cookie Monster for Wintadreama and 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes who went on to win Best Puppy in Breed and was shortlisted in the Group. Other Chayo wins of the day were 'Paolo' - Chayo Just The Ticket who was placed 2nd in Puppy Dog and he also won the Puppy Dog Stakes. 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish who placed 2nd in Post Grad Dog.

More fantastic news from Europe as Freddy wins his fourth CACIB at Arnhem in the Netherlands expertly handled and cared for by Nancy Daponte and her working partner Gwen Guillaume of NAGWE handling services.
'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish continued his winning streak by winning BEST DOG and BEST IN SHOW at the Alaskan Malamute Club of the UK Open Show under breed specialist judge John Phillips. Minor Puppy Bitch class was won by 'Oreo' - Chayo Cookie Monster for Wintadreama and in the Open Bitch class 2nd place was won by 'Quest' - Chayo Northern Quest while 3rd place was won by 'True' - Chayo True Blue of Jaydonspire.
At the Birmingham National Championship Show judged by Breed specialist Sue Smith, Chayo once again took top honours, this time with 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish, owned by Charlotte Whittaker taking BEST OF BREED and then going on to win GROUP 1. Our thanks to Sam who expertly handled Cruz in the group.

Bodhi recently featured in "Yours" magazine in an article about pet sitting! Bodhi, who is the brother of Topaz, took fame in his stride.

Wonderful news from Europe! where at the National Exhibition in Dortmund, Germany 'Freddy' - Chayo I Want It All won Best of Breed, CAC and then went on to win Group 1! At just 17 months, we are so proud of this achievement and our thanks go to Gwen Guillaume and Nancy Daponte who expertly handled him in the ring. Two days later, at the International Show in Dortmund, Freddy took Reserve Best Dog, RCAC, RCACIB, again handled by Gwen. Freddy now has 3 CACIB's towards his International title.

We have received confirmation of Topaz's International Championship title! She is now Ch/Int Ch Chayo Forget Me Not EuW' 09. The first UK female Malamute to hold the title and following in the footsteps of her sire 'Blue' - Ch/Int Ch Chayo Blue Thunder Winner '07.

At Ashton In Makerfield CS.... Chayo Just The Ticket - 'Paolo' won Best AVNSC and Best AVNSC Puppy. He then went on to be shortlisted to the final 8 for BIS and ultimately won BEST PUPPY IN SHOW. Our thanks to judge Mr Paul Harding.

At Rossendale CS.... 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Anne Coman went Best Puppy in Breed and Best of Breed from a big junior class then went onto win Working Group 3 and Puppy Working Group 2

At the recent AMWA Weight Pull at Bewl Water, 'Noobie' - Chayo Black Magic wins the WC Class. Noobie is owned by Julie Botterill and Harry McMurray.

At Kielder Cani X 'Tali' - Chayo It's All About Me, wins her class on both days of the 2 day 5K cross country masters event with her best friend Deborah Gowans. Their friends Vicci and Blizzard also win their class.

CHAYO TAKE TOP HONOURS at the Working & Pastoral Breeds Championship Show under judge Marion Spavin! Best Dog and Best Of Breed were won by 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me and Best Bitch was won by 'Truffle' - Chayo Better Than Chocolate. At his first Championship Show, 'Paolo' - Chayo Just The Ticket completed the family line up by winning Best Puppy in Breed kindly handled by Lisa B. 'Enzo' then went on to win Working Group 4 and 'Paolo' won Puppy Working Group 2. 'Frankee' - Chayo Fortune Comes to Wintalakes owned by Anne Coman won 2nd in Puppy Dog and also won the AV Working Puppy Stakes. At the Isle of Wight Open Show, 'Dollar' - Chayo Don't Stop Me Now for Keighanya owned by Vicki & Neil Partridge-Bebb won Best of Breed, Working Group 1 and BEST IN SHOW and this on the same day of the Champ Show reported above! Well done Guys!

At Crystal Palace Open Show, 'Oreo' - Chayo Cookie Monster for Wintadreama owned by Sarah Towers & Neil Rivers took AVNSC Best Puppy, Puppy Working Group 1 and RESERVE BEST PUPPY IN SHOW! All of this at her first show at 6 months and 2 days old. An excellent start to Oreo's showing career!

March 2010

Following on from a successful winter out on the trails, 'Freddy' - Chayo I Want It All has set his sights on conquering the show rings of Europe! At the International Dog Show in Luxembourg with his new friend and handler Nancy Daponte and her working partner Gwen Guillaume Freddy had an amazing day, winning the CACIB, CAC and BOB from the Intermediate Class at just 15 and a half months. Our thanks to Nagwe Handling Services for looking after Freddy and proving that he can indeed have it all!

Exciting news for 'Paolo' - Chayo Just The Ticket who at At Bootle & DCS won Best Puppy in Breed then went on to win Working Puppy Group 1 followed by BEST PUPPY IN SHOW!! Way to go Paolo!

Crufts 2010 sees 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish, owned by Charlotte Whittaker take first in Yearling Dog and the Reserve Dog CC, excellent work! 'Freddy' - Chayo I Want It All gained 2nd place in Special Junior Dog and 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me won 3rd place from a large Limit Dog class, 'Louis' - Multi BIS Ch/Ir Ch Chayo Dom Perignon ShCM WPD EuW'09 then went on to win a respectable 2nd place in Open Dog. 'Neeva' - Chayo Sweet Sensation at Snowstruck won the Special Puppy bitch class, continuing the glowing show career she started last year! In the Open Bitch class there was a trio of Chayo's placed, with 'Truffle' - Chayo Better Than Chocolate taking 3rd place, 'Tia' - Chayo Sapphire Blue at Snowstruck taking Reserve and 'Quest' - Chayo Northern Quest taking VHC. Chayo then went on to make the final cut of 8 teams in the Breeders Stakes, a fantastic achievement considering 56 teams had entered!

Continuing the fantastic start to his showing career, 'Paolo' - Chayo Just The Ticket got Best Puppy In Breed and Best of Breed at York CA then went on to win both Working Puppy Group 1 AND Working Group 1. He certainly is just the ticket!!!

At her first show in Iceland, the International Show in Reykjavik, 'Demi' - Chayo Step Ahead owned by Tara Sif Haraldson and Styrmir Vignisson won excellent, 1st place in class, best bitch, BOS, champion material and to finish it off she got the international championship point (CACIB).

'Paolo' - Chayo Just The Ticket starts his showing career with a bang at Sutton Coldfield Open Show winning Best AVNSC puppy and then going on to win Working Puppy Group 1. 'Elise' - Chayo Elise wins 1st in Postgraduate class at the same show.

At Ilfracombe and District Canine Society Open Show 'Dollar' - Chayo Don't Stop Me Now for Keighanya owned by Vicki & Neil Partridge-Bebb won 1st Alaskan Malamute Yearling, Reserve Best of Breed and Best Opposite Sex continuing her winning streak!

The 2009 Third Quarter Statistics for the AMCA show 'Logan' - Am Ch Kasaan's Take The Fortune N Run to Chayo is 3rd in the Top 10 Class. Way to go Logan!!!
'Dollar' - Chayo Don't Stop Me Now for Keighanya owned by Vicki & Neil Partridge-Bebb is on a roll! At Gloucester & DCS she gained Best AVNSC and Group 1 and at Salisbury and South Wilts open show she won 1st AV Working Junior and then Group 2. Well done Dollar!

At Leigh Show, 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me won Best of Breed then Group 1 and BEST IN SHOW under very well known and highly respected judge Mrs Liz Dunhill. His litter sister 'Elise' - Chayo Elise won Reserve Best of Breed.

At Huddersfield & District CA under judge Jane York, 'Enzo' - Chayo All Eyes On Me was awarded Best of Breed and then went on to gain Working Group 3, his brother 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish, owned by Charlotte Whittaker was Reserve Best of Breed and 'Dollar' -Chayo Don't Stop Me Now for Keighanya owned by Neil and Vicki Partridge-Bebb was awarded Best Opposite Sex.

At Manchester Championship Show under judge Mark Plummer, 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish was placed first in the Junior Dog class.

Chayo Diablo owned by Pernilla Sandstroem, gets off to a flying start in 2010 and at just 17 mths of age wins another Best Of Breed and goes on to win Group 4 at the International Show in Gothenburg.
