December 2009

At the Moheda Christmas Show in Sweden, Chayo Diablo owned by Pernilla Sandstroem finished his first year of showing by going Best In Show. The judge was Jenny Hall.

A wonderful end to the year for Chayo as 'Enzo' Chayo All Eyes On Me won Best Dog at the LKA Championship Show then went on to win Best of Breed and GROUP 4 at just 15 months of age. 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish, owned by Charlotte Whittaker won the Junior Dog class.

November 2009

Fantastic news just in from the Euro Dog Show in Kortrijk, Belgium where 'Topaz' - CH Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09 gets the CACIB and CAC making her a new International Champion!!! 'Logan' - Am Ch Kasaan's Take The Fortune N Run to Chayo was awarded the Reserve CACIB and CAC.

At National & Working Breeds of Scotland, Best of Breed and Working Group 2 goes to 'Topaz' - CH Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09, Reserve Best Dog was awarded to 'Louis' - Multi BIS Ch/Ir Ch Chayo Dom Perignon ShCM WPD EuW'09 and at his show debut, 'Freddy' - Chayo I Want It All was awarded Best Puppy in Breed, Working Puppy Group 1 and BEST PUPPY IN SHOW. An excellent start to his showing career, well done Freddy! Our thanks to breed judge Tom Johnston and group judge Jeff Luscott.

October 2009

At Midland Counties Champ Show under judge Anthony Rees, 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish was 1st in the Post Graduate class out of an entry of 13 dogs. 'Enzo' Chayo All Eyes On Me came a respectable 3rd place in the Open class out of an entry of 10 dogs, a good result for him at just 13 months of age.

Chayo Diablo.......'Diablo' owned by Sue Ellis and Pernilla Sandstroem wins BEST IN SHOW at the 'Golden Go - The Scanian Champion of Champions Contest' Judge: Jan Herngren. He beat an entry of 50 dogs whom all had to have won Best of Breed awards during the year. We are very proud of Diablo and Pernilla...... Great Job!!!

Chayo are pleased to announce the launch of our own brand of pet food. We have developed a quality product set to take its place in the market of Complete Nutrition.

At the World Show 2009 in Bratislava, Chayo are very proud of Isabella Nawrocka's Chayo Snowflake of Monikoona who placed 4th with an Excellent in a strong Open Bitch Class out of an entry of 11. Well done both of you for flying the GB flag at the World Show.

At Driffield Championship Show, 'Logan' - Am Ch Kasaan's Take The Fortune N Run to Chayo took Best of Breed under judge Richard Kinsey, continuing the glowing start to his show career in the UK. 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish took another 1st place in the Junior Dog class and "Kura" - Chayo Living The Dream At Katabatic owned by Kat Copley-Holland took 2nd place in the Yearling Bitch class.

September 2009

We are full of news from the Alaskan Malamute Club of the UK Championship Show! Gaining her 2nd CC under breed specialist Chris John with Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex in Show was "Tia" - Chayo Sapphire Blue at Snowstruck, owned by Jane York. To top it off, The Reserve Bitch CC was given to "Naya" - Chayo Vanilla Ice at Koldsnap owned by Maggie Wilkinson! Class places were as follows: Junior Dog judged by breed specialist Jill Broadberry found 'Cruz' - Chayo Vanquish in 3rd place. In The Minor Puppy Bitch class, 'Neeva' - Chayo Sweet Sensation at Snowstruck was placed 2nd and Chayo This Ones For You took 4th place in this class and 5th place in the Puppy Bitch class. In the Junior Bitch class, Chayo Don't Stop Me Now by Keighanya was placed 4th. The Novice Bitch class was won by "Lola" - Chayo Steel The Limelight. It was a Chayo 1,2,3 in the Open Bitch class with "Tia" - Chayo Sapphire Blue at Snowstruck in 1st place, 'Topaz' - CH Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09 coming in 2nd place and 'Quest' - Chayo Northern Quest in 3rd place with Chayo True Blue joining them in the line-up in 5th place. "Naya" - Chayo Vanilla Ice at Koldsnap was the winner of the Veteran Bitch class. To top off the day, Chayo won the Best Breeder class, giving us 20 points and qualifying us for the final at Crufts 2010!! Well done to everyone representing Chayo today!

Chayo continue to succeed abroad! At the Alaskan Malamute Club of Poland Show, Isabella Nawrocka made up a new Polish Champion. "Artica" - Pol Ch Chayo Snowflake of Monikoona. Well done Izzy!

Richmond Championship Show and 'Louis' - Multi BIS Ch/Ir Ch Chayo Dom Perignon ShCM WPD EuW'09 claims Best of Breed then goes on to gain Working Group 3

She's on a roll! At City of Birmingham, 'Topaz' - CH Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09 claimed Best of Breed and was shortlisted in the group. Her son Chayo Vanquish 'Cruz' (Am / Lux / Nl Ch Snoquest's Limited Edition x CH Chayo Forget me Not EuW '09) was 2nd in Junior Dog and was also shorlisted to the final 6 in the Junior Stakes class.

August 2009

An amazing day for Chayo at the Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show. 'Topaz' - CH Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09 claimed Best of Breed and her 4th CC under judge Liz Cartledge, making her the current bitch CC breed record holder. She then went on to win Working Group 1 under judge Mr T Johnston! Both Reserve CCs went to Chayo with 'Louis' - Multi BIS Ch/Ir Ch Chayo Dom Perignon ShCM WPD EuW'09, adding another Reserve CC to his wins and 'Tia' - Chayo Sapphire Blue at Snowstruck winning the bitch RCC for her owner Jane York who had a great day as 'Neeva' - Chayo Sweet Sensation at Snowstruck continued her own winning streak with yet another Best Puppy in Breed! The Chayo team consisting of Louis, Topaz, Tia and Neeva then went on to win the Breeders Working Group. All four are progeny of 'Blue' - Ch/Int Ch. Chayo Blue Thunder..

At Bournemouth Championship Show, 'Topaz' - CH Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09 continues her winning streak by claiming Best of Breed and then going on to pick up Group 3. Reserve Best Bitch was Tia -Chayo Sapphire Blue at Snowstruck owned by Jane York whose Chayo Sweet Sensation at Snowstruck won the puppy bitch class, her 2nd win at her 2nd show. Let's hear it for the girls!

'Louis' has been awarded his Irish Championship. His full title is now Multi BIS Ch/Ir Ch Chayo Dom Perignon ShCM WPD EuW'09. Well done Louis!

Chayo are pleased to present their 4th home bred Champion! At Paignton Championship Show, breed specialist Kath Howarth handed 'Topaz' - Chayo Forget Me Not, her 3rd CC. She then went on to be shortlisted in the group and led the Chayo team to victory as they gained Group 1 in the Breeder Group. Topaz is also a daughter of 'Blue' - Ch/Int Ch Chayo Blue Thunder, increasing his Champion progeny to 3. Chayo also won Best Puppy in Breed in the form of Chayo Sweet Sensation (Ch/Int Ch Chayo Blue Thunder x Stair De Ruta Norte), owned by Jane York. This was her first show and we are so pleased for Jane, Pete and Kerry who handled her so well! Congratulations too for Chayo Northern Quest (Keikewabics Shepherdsway Chayo x Keikewabics Chayo Chyna), owned by Sue Thompson who won Reserve Best Bitch.

Half way through the year and Chayo are leading the way once again! 'Louis' Ch Chayo Dom Perignon ShCM WPD EuW '09 is currently top Alaskan Malamute 2009. Top bitch is currently 'Topaz' Chayo Forget Me Not EuW '09.

Exciting news has arrived from the US.... Our latest import Logan, Am CH Kasaan's Take The Fortune N Run to Chayo, has been awarded TOP CLASS WINNER for the first quarter of 2009 by the AMCA.

At Wombwell Open Show, Lauren had a fabulous day handling 'Tova' Chayo Canadian Dream for Samjoe winning Best of Breed and then Group 4. You go girls !

At National and Working Pastoral Breeds Championship Show, here at Chayo we are extremely proud to announce that under Top Specialist Working Judge Mr Simon Luxmore Chayo Forget Me Not 'Topaz', our beautiful girl, not only wins her 2nd CC as the Best Bitch but also Best of Breed. Of course, doing it in true Chayo Style and being a 'Blue daughter' she goes on to pick up a Group 4 under world renowned judge Miss Elina Haapaniemi. Her son Chayo Vanquish 'Cruz' (Am / Lux / Nl Ch Snoquest's Limited Edition x Chayo Forget me Not) owned by Charlotte Whittaker wins Best Puppy Dog from a huge puppy class.

Chayo Better Than Chocolate 'Truffle' and Chayo talk of The North 'Moochie' receive confirmation of their Working Pack Titles. Well done dogs and of course myself and Jo Sugden.

'Dollar' wins The Graduate class and goes on to take Best Puppy In Breed and then Puppy Group 2 at Stithians Agricultural Association Show.

Huge thanks to great friend and breeder Bonnie McMahon-Howen of Kasaan Kennels for entrusting me with Logan here at Chayo. At Tongwynlais CS, 'Dollar' Chayo Don't Stop Me Now for Keighanya owned by Vicki and Neil wins Best Puppy AVNSC and places 2nd in the Puppy Group

At Windsor Championship Show 'Louis' wins the Breed and goes on to place 4th in the Group.

June 2009

At Blackpool Championship Show, it was fantastic to see Chayo Northern Quest 'Quessie' owned by Miss Sue Thompson wins Best Bitch, Reserve Best of Breed and was awarded the Reserve Challenge Certificate. Only lightly shown this girl really delivers and has matured beautifully. Chayo Vanquish 'Cruz' owned By Miss Charlotte Whittaker was Best Puppy Dog.

At Border Union Championship Show 'Enzo' wins the heat of the Pro Plan Pup of the Year competition qualifying for the finals in January 2010. At the same show, Louis wins Best of Breed and goes on to place 4th in the Working Group, Enzo wins Best Puppy In Breed and Mika places 2nd in the Junior Class.

At the Southampton and District Canine Association Show Vicki and Neil Partridge Bebb's Chayo Don't Stop Me Now By Keighanya 'Dollar' takes Best Puppy in Breed and Best Opposite Sex.

At 3 Counties Championship Show, 'Louis' wins Best of Breed and goes on to place 4th in the Working Group. 'Enzo' wins Best Puppy in Breed and goes on to win the Puppy Working Group out of an entry of 880 puppies. 'Enzo' also won the Petplan Junior Stakes on the Day and then went back for the final which he won overall and has now qualified at the tender age of 10 mths for the Grand Final at the end of October. This is the second Chayo Alaskan Malamute who has qualified for the Grand Final in the past two years.

At Honley Show, Chayo Canadian Dream for Samjoe 'Tova' won Best AVNSC and Group 4.

At Christchuch and New Forest CS, the judge Jeff Horswell awarded Vicki and Neil Partridge Bebb's Chayo Don't Stop Me Now By Keighanya 'Dollar'...Best Puppy in Breed and the Puppy Working Group.

At the Great Harwood Show Chayo Vanquish 'Cruz' takes Best Puppy In Breed.

At Vanersborg National Show, Chayo Diablo (Enzo & Cruz's litter brother) wins Best Of Breed under famous Irish Judge Mr Seamus Oates. Diablo then goes on to place 5th in the Group at only 9 mths of age under one of Sweden's Top Judges Mr Goran Bodegard. Well done Pernilla and Diablo !

May 2009

CHAYO do the DOUBLE at the European Championship Show held in Dublin and win 3 NEW TITLES
At the European Championship Show in Dublin Louis wins the CACIB, the Green Star and Best of Breed. Topaz wins the CACIB, the Green Star and Reserve Best of Breed. Both Louis and Topaz now hold the title of European Winner '09. Demi returns from Sweden and wins her Junior Class, the Reserve Green Star and picks up the title of Junior European Winner '09. Enzo excelled in the Junior Class by taking 2nd place despite being the youngest. Big thank you to Pernilla for travelling to Dublin and showing the girls. Also to Elspeth for the moral support.

At Scotland Championship Show Louis wins the Champion Stakes.

At Bath Championship show Best of Breed and Best Dog was Louis. Best Puppy in Breed was Enzo, and 2nd in Puppy Dog was Cruz, well done to Charlotte and Cruz. Chayo Malamutes won Best Breeder and then placed 2nd over all in the Breeder's Group.

BPISS Chayo Chasing Dreams 'Gabrielle' has now gone to her new home with Lou, Justin and Aimee Corkhill at "Justami" - she will carry on her show career with them.

At Larv National All Breeds Championship Show in Sweden, Chayo Diablo (litter brother to Enzo and Cruz) ,owned by Sue Ellis and Pernilla Sandström, wins Best Puppy In Breed and then finishes up with Best Puppy In Show 4th. The judge was Jackie Perry. Well done Pernilla and Diablo!

At Selby Canine Society Charlotte's 'Cruz' Chayo Vanquish won Best Puppy and Best of Breed. Well done.

April 2009

At Welks Championship Show, Chayo All Eyes On Me 'Enzo' made his debut in a show stopping way. At only 8 months old he won Best Overall AVNSC and Best Puppy out of an entry of 48, beating 3 BIS winners and 3 Champions. An amazing start to his show career. See 'Enzo' in the Group ring. I would like to say a huge thank you to judge Mr Des Manton for giving Enzo this incredible opportunity. Thank you so much to Rita and Tony of Stormchaser Alaskan Malamutes for allowing me to use their fabulous boy 'Diesel' Am Ch/NL Ch/Lux Ch Sno Quest's Limited Edition on 'Topaz' Chayo Forget Me Not. It truly was a fantastic combination.

At Working & Pastoral Breeds Association of Wales Championship Show, Chayo Malamutes did well picking up Best of Breed and Best Dog with Ch Chayo Dom Perignon ShCm WPD, Best Bitch & Best Opposite Sex with Chayo Forget Me Not and Reserve Best Bitch with Jane York's Chayo Sapphire Blue at Snowstruck. Dom Perignon then went on to win the Working Group and ultimately RESERVE BEST IN SHOW

March 2009

At the Swedish Winners Show in Stockholm, Chayo Step Ahead 'Demi' wins Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex and the title of 'Swedish Winner 2009'. Well done Demi and Pernilla.

CRUFTS -  the Chayo Alaskan Malamute Show Team place 3rd in the Grand Final of the UK Breeders Stakes. It was an amazing day and an honour to be in the BIS ring amonst the finest of UK Breeders. Thanks to Sam Dean for handling 'Truffle', Pernilla Sandstroem for handling 'Louis' and Andy Clarke for handling 'Topaz'. We brought 'Blue' out of retirement for this wonderful event and as sire and grandsire to the kids, it was only right he headed them all in onto the famous Green Carpet. As you can see from the attached videos the team were a credit to the Breed and Blue had a fine old day out wagging his tail constantly !
In the Breed Judging 'Chayo' Malamutes did fantastic with Chayo Forget Me Not 'Topaz' beautifully handled by Top American Handler Laurie Jordan-Fenner taking top honours with the Bitch Challenge Certificate and Best Opposite Sex. Chayo Jewel of the Nile at Endor took 1st place in Post Graduate class, Chayo Living the Dream at Katabatic took 2nd place in Special Junior class and Chayo Steel the Limelight took 2nd place in Special puppy Class. Well done to everyone

At Nantwich & DCS, the boys had a good day with Best Of Breed going to Jo Sugden's Chayo Talk of the North (Keikewabics Shepherdsway Chayo x Keikewabics Chayo Chyna ) 'Moochie' and Reserve Best Of Breed and Best Puppy In Breed at his first show going to Charlotte Whittaker's Chayo Vanquish (Am Ch/Nl Ch/Lux Ch Snoquest Limited Edition x Chayo Forget Me Not ) 'Cruz'. At Barrow & DCS, Lynsey Bullen's girl Chayo Steel The Limelight (Gwinner Lapema Star De Junglas Negra x Can Ch Keikewabic Kiaranuk Chayo Tara) 'Lola' placed Best of Breed and then Working Group 3. Well done everyone.

January 2009

CH Chayo Dom Perignon SHCM WPD takes Best Dog, and Best Of Breed. Chayo Forget Me Not takes Best. Bitch Chayo Chasing Dreams places 2nd in the Junior Bitch. Chayo Pole Position takes Best Puppy and Ms S Ellis - Best Breeder. The Chayo Alaskan Malamutes go on to win the Breeder Working Group overall at the Manchester Championship Show 2009. At the same Show, Chayo Pole Position wins a very creditable 2nd place out of an entry of 32 in the Puppy Dog Stakes.

Chayo Pole Position takes Best Puppy and Puppy Group One, Chayo Forget Me Not takes Best Bitch, and CH Chayo Dom Perignon SHCM WPD takes Reserve Best Dog at the Boston and District Champion Show.

Chayo Step Ahead starts the New Year in style at the Gothenburg National Show, Sweden taking her 1st Best of Breed and CAC and then her 2nd CAC on the 2nd Day, and all at 11mths old. Well done to Pernilla with Demi.
